Unlike most couples I host for tastings, Christina and Ben were already married when we met.
They had eloped over summer and were looking for a simple cake for an intimate second wedding they were planning for close family and friends at The Commissary in San Francisco's Presidio.
Eschewing tradition, they pulled together a refreshingly modern event in a palette that felt rich with history and perfectly fitting for their autumn dinner. In deep, regal hues and pops of gold, every artful detail from the table settings, to the lush, romantic florals to the styling of their Dutch-inspired cake came together beautifully, perfectly reflecting the cool, stylish, blissfully married couple that they are.

Christina and Ben chose a 2-tier cake composed of two different gluten-free flavors (olive oil on top and rainbow carrot on bottom), frosted in vanilla buttercream and styled by Natalie Bowen.
